How to throw a Poppin’ luau your teenage daughter will love

Unbelievably my little babygirl just turned 14. I was thrilled she asked me to throw her a luau party for her birthday. I don’t get to see my kids much lately, and an excuse to spoil her a little and see my babies sounded like a fabulous idea to me. So, I started about a month prior to party day! With a check list I made. You guys can use it as well here.

Party planning checklist

I made some pretty cool center pieces and my friend made a frame for a photo back drop that all came out pretty well. We were going to make a tiki hut as well but we just optied for convince and bought one at party City.

This is photo back drop with my daughter & her boyfriend. Did have an ALOHA balloon hanging down but that didn’t last too long with the wind at tbe beach. Oh well you live you learn, right?
Here’s how it all turned out in the end. Was a little rushed putting together the presentation but I think it came out alright. I know my daughter and her friends had a good time that’s all that matters.

So for games I had a few planned but once it came down to party time we only got to two games because , hey, we’re at the beach and kids want to swim. We ended up having a watermelon eating contest as well as playing a game called pass the water.

The kids getting down on some watermelon. They were all excited about playing this one!
This is them playing the pass the water game. Pretty easy consept one bucket on each end then they pass water with cups over there heads to fill the bucket at the end of the line. Perfect beach game!

Once everything was said and done the party turned out pretty good! My daughter is officially 14 and I’m officially old! Hope someone can use some of my ideas as insperation while throwing there own luau party. Here’s some more cute pictures from the party to end the post. Thanks for reading!
